Remote Work and Digital Nomad Scene
Albania has built a genuine infrastructure for remote workers over the last three years. Tirana in particular has a growing and active nomad community.
- Oficina Coworking and Impact Hub Tirana are the anchor spaces — membership from $100/month, drop-in from $10/day
- Blloku neighbourhood cafés (Kaveja, Komiteti, etc.) are routinely used as informal workspaces with reliable wifi
- Monthly nomad meetups and networking events in Tirana — check 'Albania Digital Nomads' and 'Expats in Tirana' Facebook groups
- Time zone (CET/CEST): ideal for European clients; 5–6 hours ahead of US East Coast, allowing morning overlap
- Power reliability: carry a laptop with good battery and consider a power bank; short cuts do occur in older buildings
- Tirana's tech community is growing: Tumo Tirana (youth tech education), various bootcamps, and an expanding startup scene attract Albanian returnees from Italy and Germany
